The project
With Static Shot 54, the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine continues its commitment to opening contemporary dance to new audiences, often “held back” by traditional ballet representations. Designed for two amateur groups of various ages and backgrounds, this project offers creation, transmission, and performance work conducted outside conventional venues—in community centers, retirement homes, youth clubs, and associative establishments in Nancy and its surroundings.
Two former dancers of the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine, Esther Bachs Viñuela and Léo Gras, will write and teach two choreographic scores: one for 24 children (aged 12 and up), the other for 24 adults, under the artistic supervision of Maud Le Pladec.
The project aims to demystify choreographic practice, create intergenerational bonds, and restore confidence among people distant from artistic practice.
Beneficiaries:
Children and adults from social, cultural, educational, or medical structures
Residents of sensitive neighborhoods or rural areas around Nancy
Associations working for inclusion, intergenerational dialogue, or human rights
Performances are scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine.
By sponsoring Static Shot 54, the Francis Kurkdjian Endowment Fund supports a participatory choreographic project, open to children and adults distant from dance, aiming to demystify choreographic practice, weave intergenerational connections, and celebrate art as a vector of confidence, solidarity, and inclusion.

Maud Le Pladec is a choreographer, artistic director, and current director of the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine. Trained at the Montpellier Choreographic Center, she has danced for Boris Charmatz, Mette Ingvartsen, and Mathilde Monnier before creating her own works, praised for their musical and political radicality. She explores the connections between speech, memory, and the body, and has created committed pieces such as counting stars with you and Silent Legacy. In 2024, she was appointed dance director for the Paris Olympic ceremonies. She is a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters and the National Order of Merit.
