Look back at the first session of the 2026 Young Creation Workshop of the Cinémathèque idéale des banlieues du monde
Launched at the Ateliers Médicis and led by filmmaker Rosine Mbakam. This 5th edition brings together six emerging talents — Shadi Bensaidi, Bamar Kane, Sara Kheladi, Sadia Kossangue, Nina Melo, and Grace Seri — for an artistic and professional mentoring program. Participants also met director Alain Kassanda to discuss his career path and his latest film, Colette et Justin.
Two additional sessions will take place in March at the Ménagerie de Verre and in April at the Scam.
At the end of the workshop, a jury will award the “Jeune Création Ateliers Médicis and Rubis Mécénat” grant to support the development of one participant’s film project.
The program is co-led by the Ateliers Médicis and the Centre Pompidou, with support from the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée, Rubis Mécénat, the Scam, the Ménagerie de Verre, and the Fonds de dotation Francis Kurkdjian, which is committed to supporting emerging creators.
